Are you an experienced People & Culture professional who loves building relationships, supporting leaders and creating workplaces where people can thrive?
We are partnering with a well-established, purpose-driven not-for-profit organisation based in Ballina to recruit a People & Culture Partner.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join an organisation that genuinely values its people and the important work they do in the community. You'll play a key role in providing practical, proactive HR advice and support, working closely with leaders to drive positive people outcomes.
About the Role
As the People & Culture Partner, you'll be a trusted advisor to managers and employees across the organisation, providing guidance across a broad range of HR matters.
This is a hands-on, varied role where no two days will be the same. You'll have the opportunity to build strong relationships, influence positive change and contribute to initiatives that enhance employee engagement, performance and organisational culture.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Partnering with leaders to provide practical, solutions-focused HR advice and support.
- Managing employee relations matters, including performance management, workplace issues and conflict resolution.

- Providing advice on relevant employment legislation, awards,

- Supporting recruitment, onboarding and employee lifecycle activities.
- Contributing to People & Culture projects and initiatives that strengthen engagement, retention and workplace culture.
- Identifying opportunities to improve HR processes, systems and employee experiences.
About You
We're looking for an approachable, confident and commercially minded HR professional who enjoys working closely with people and making things happen.
You'll bring a strong understanding of contemporary HR practices, excellent communication skills and the ability to balance empathy with sound judgement.
Ideally, you'll have:
- Previous experience in a HR Advisor, HR Business Partner or People & Culture Partner role.
- Sound knowledge of Australian employment legislation, modern awards and employee relations practices.
- Experience supporting managers through complex and sensitive people matters.
- Robust relationship-building skills and the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
- A proactive, adaptable and solutions-focused approach.
- A genuine passion for creating positive workplace experiences and supporting purpose-driven organisations.
Experience within the not-for-profit or community services sector would be highly regarded, but is not essential.
