The Role

St Brendan’s Primary School Somerville is seeking a dynamic Physical Education teacher to join our team (Monday- half day, Tuesday, Wednesday). This is a fixed term, part time position with a .5 allocation to commence January 27th, 2027. Graduates and early career teachers are welcome to apply.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and deliver an engaging and innovative Physical Education curriculum for students from Foundation to Year 6.
- Coordinate all sporting activities and events, including inter-school competitions, sports carnivals (athletics, cross-country, swimming), and recreational programs.
- Oversee the maintenance and inventory of all sports equipment and facilities.
- Promote student well-being, teamwork, and sportsmanship through participation in physical activity.
- Liaise effectively with staff, students, and parents regarding the sports program.
- Provide support and supervision for staff and students involved in extra-curricular sporting activities.

The Ideal Candidate

- Is an engaging and motivating teacher with a strong knowledge of contemporary pedagogy in Physical Education.
- Is highly organised,



able to manage and administer a comprehensive school sports program.
- Demonstrates a commitment to the Catholic ethos and the values of St Brendan's.
- Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
- Holds a valid Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration.
- Has a relevant tertiary qualification in Physical Education or a related field.
