Are you an experienced plant operator who takes pride in operating heavy machinery safely and delivering quality results? Mid-Western Regional Council is seeking a skilled and reliable Plant Operator 3 (Roller) to join our Roads team in Rylstone.

In this hands-on role, you’ll operate Council’s heavy earthmoving compaction plant across road maintenance, construction and other infrastructure projects throughout the region. We’re looking for someone with demonstrated plant operating skills, a strong commitment to safety and the ability to work collaboratively to get the job done.

About the Role

Reporting to the Works Officer, your responsibilities will include:

- Operating Council’s heavy earthmoving compaction plant on road maintenance, construction and other related infrastructure projects.

- Working safely and responsibly, ensuring your actions do not put yourself, others or the environment at risk.

- Completing daily pre-start checks and ensuring plant is maintained in a safe, tidy and serviceable condition.

- Assisting with road maintenance and construction activities, including labouring duties as required.

- Working effectively as part of a team and following instructions to achieve project outcomes.

- Undertaking traffic control activities at worksites, including erecting safety signage and barriers, as required.

- Periodically undertaking out-of-hours (on-call) duties.

About You

You’re a safety-conscious and practical operator who understands the importance of maintaining equipment,



following safe work practices and working as part of a team.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- A current Class C Driver’s Licence.

- General Construction Induction Card (White Card)

- Demonstrated skills operating earthmoving plant
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team
- A commitment to workplace health and safety

- The salary range for this full-time position is $2,358.90 - $2,500.00 gross per fortnight, plus superannuation which equates to an annual salary of $61,331.40 - $65,000.00 (dependant on skills, qualifications and experience). Additionally, you are also entitled to Adverse Working Conditions Allowance of 40.580 per fortnight.
