McNeall Plastics are looking for an experienced Plastic Technician for an immediate start. This position is a full time ongoing position, working 38 hours per week based in Unanderra NSW.

The Plastic Technician be responsible for the following duties:

- Operating and monitoring cast nylon equipment, including start-up, shut-down and in-process control of casting and polymerisation plant. This matches Plastics Technician work: setting up, starting, shutting down and regulating machines that manufacture plastics products.
- Preparing and mixing raw materials (caprolactam, catalysts, activators and additives) and charging them to the process. This matches measuring and loading materials and applying knowledge of polymers and additives.
- Controlling temperature, vacuum and reaction parameters through the polymerisation cycle, and recording process conditions. This matches setting and recording heat, pressure and vacuum, and regulating machines so the product meets specification.
- Carrying out moulding and polymerisation,



including mould preparation and tooling set-up. This matches setting up the mould and adjusting machinery for different products.
- Inspecting finished castings and running quality checks (dimensions, hardness, appearance, colour, voids). This matches confirming the product meets specification.
- Troubleshooting faults when castings or readings fall outside standard, and adjusting the process or arranging repair. This is a core Plastics Technician task: fixing process problems and adjusting or repairing the machines.
- Cutting, machining and finishing cast nylon to drawing. This matches fabricating the plastics product and completing final quality checks.
- Keeping production records, coordinating the casting line, and recommending changes that improve yield or consistency. This matches production records, workflow control, and process improvement.

Pay: From $79,500.00 per year
