We’re partnering with a Queensland Government organisation seeking an experienced Principal Financial Accountant for a contract through to March 2027./n

/n This opportunity will suit a senior financial accounting qualified with strong practical experience across capital works, asset accounting and CWIP, who can step into a hands-on environment and confidently manage complex accounting activities, ledger integrity and financial reporting./n

- Brisbane CBD

- 12 October 2026 to 26 March 2027

- Full-time, 38 hours per week

- $92.15 per hour + super

/n

- On-site

/n /n /n The opportunity:/n

/n

/n Working within an established finance function, you will take a lead role across financial accounting activities relating to capital works and assets./n

/n Your responsibilities will include:/n

/n /n

- Leading end-of-month financial accounting activities

/n

- Managing the integrity of capital, asset and CWIP ledgers

/n

- Supporting capital works accounting, reconciliations and associated reporting

/n

- Preparing financial, management and ad hoc reporting for senior management

/n

- Providing technical financial accounting advice across the finance function

/n





- Identifying and resolving ledger, accounting and reporting issues as they arise

/n /n What you'll bring We’re particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate:/n

/n /n

- Strong hands-on experience in capital works and asset accounting

/n

- Practical experience managing CWIP and associated accounting processes

/n

- Demonstrated responsibility for month-end accounting and complex ledger activities

/n

- Experience preparing financial reporting for senior stakeholders

/n

- The ability to provide sound technical accounting advice in a complex organisation

/n

- Previous Queensland Government or broader public sector financial accounting experience will be highly regarded

/n

- Relevant tertiary qualifications in accounting, finance or commerce

/n /n
