Blackbird Blackbird's dealflow and portfolio success work is moving into its agentic era: using AI to do more of the heavy lifting so the team can focus on what only people can do. This role owns Blackbird's Sourcing and Portfolio Support Products: analysing how the investments and portfolio support teams work, shaping their requirements into the products behind our sourcing and ecosystem workflows, our introductions product and talent engine, keeping the top-of-funnel data that feeds them accurate, and supporting the wider agentic build underneath the investments and portfolio success teams.

Benefits Salary of $85,000 – $90,000 plus superannuation. Real ownership of products used across the firm, close collaboration with experienced investors and the portfolio support team, and exposure to the most ambitious founders and technical talent in Australia and New Zealand. Full-time, based in Sydney. Task &

responsibilities • Productising how the investments team finds and attracts the best founders: building products and systems to search for, source and build relationships with founders at scale, replacing manual work such as LinkedIn searching, list and data management, and outbound • Owning the accuracy of top-of-funnel talent and dealflow pipeline data, and the dealflow coverage metrics reported to the investment team • Codifying how Blackbird spots talent: designing the signals, criteria and scoring behind early-career talent sourcing, drawing on university, GitHub and ecosystem data feeds • Building founder tracking as a product: watchlists, signal alerts and dealflow pipeline integration that turn ecosystem relationships into early coverage of pre-seed and seed founders • Staying close to the founder,

university and AI/ML/robotics communities, including dinners, events and programmes, as a source of user requirements, product feedback and talent signal • Supporting the sourcing of exceptional young and technical people by feeding structured signals into the talent engine rather than running a parallel manual process • Building an introductions product with the portfolio support team: how founders request introductions, how requests are triaged and fulfilled, the quality of each introduction, and how outcomes are tracked • Building the talent engine that surfaces and curates talent, identifies shortlists and shares digests, consolidating work currently spread across Sheets, Gmail, LinkedIn, Luma and Attio • Owning the product build side of the Portfolio Success agent roadmap: agentic workflows for triaging founder requests, routing introductions, refreshing data and surfacing alerts, grounded in live Attio, Socket and Notion data • Building the systems behind community programmes: automating invitations, registration, follow-ups and relationship capture across Luma and Attio, so every event lands as structured data • Mapping how the teams work: eliciting requirements from investors, founders and the portfolio support team, and documenting them as specifications the build can ship against • Testing,

shipping and documenting: system test plans with investment team users, rollout support, and the documentation and training that make new products stick Qualification &

experience • Bachelor degree or higher in information technology, software development, business information systems or a related field • At least one year of professional experience in business analysis, product development, or building internal software, workflow or data products • Demonstrated experience gathering requirements from stakeholders and turning them into working products, automations or data pipelines • Hands-on experience with AI and agentic tools, CRM and workspace platforms (such as Attio and Notion), and data or integration tooling (such as APIs, SQL or scripting) • A genuine eye for exceptional founders and early-career technical talent, including outside established networks • Comfortable moving between relationship-building (events, dinners, community) and systems-building (agentic workflows, data pipelines) • Strong written and verbal communication, and the ability to work collaboratively on a small number of transparent priorities About Company Blackbird is Australia and New Zealand's largest venture capital firm, investing in the region's most ambitious founders right from the very beginning. Founded in 2012 and based in Sydney, Blackbird has backed more than 100 companies, including Canva, SafetyCulture and Culture Amp.
