Project Manager | Join Firerite Services

Looking for your next project management opportunity?

Firerite Services is looking for a capable, commercially minded Project Manager to join our Brisbane team and take ownership of fire protection installation projects from planning through to completion.

You don’t need to come from the fire industry.

If your background is in construction, building services, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, or another trade environment, and you can coordinate people, budgets, programs, and clients, we’d like to hear from you.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll take responsibility for the complete project lifecycle, from initial handover and planning through to commissioning and completion, including:

- Project planning and mobilisation: Review project scope, specifications, drawings and contractual requirements, establish deliverables and develop a clear plan for project delivery.
- Programming and scheduling: Develop and manage project programs, key milestones, site requirements and deadlines, adjusting resources and priorities as projects progress.
- Budget and commercial management: Establish and manage project budgets across labour, materials, equipment and subcontractors, monitor actual costs against budget and identify potential overruns early.
- Procurement and materials: Coordinate purchasing and delivery of materials and equipment to ensure they are available when required and aligned with the construction program.
- Labour and subcontractor coordination: Plan and coordinate technicians, trades and subcontractors, ensuring the right resources are available at each stage of the project.
- Site coordination: Maintain a hands-on understanding of site progress, coordinate with builders and other trades,

resolve installation issues and keep works progressing in line with the construction program.
- Client and stakeholder management: Act as a key point of contact for clients, builders, consultants, subcontractors and other project stakeholders, providing clear communication throughout delivery.
- Variations and scope changes: Identify, price, document and manage variations or changes to project scope, including their impact on cost and program.
- Technical and compliance coordination: Ensure works are delivered in accordance with project specifications, approved designs, relevant Australian Standards and regulatory requirements.
- Project documentation: Manage RFIs, project correspondence, drawings, approvals, compliance documentation, progress reporting and other project records.
- Quality and risk management: Monitor workmanship and project quality, identify potential delivery risks or issues early and coordinate practical solutions before they impact the project.
- Progress claims and invoicing: Monitor project progress against financial milestones and coordinate progress claims, invoicing and subcontractor costs.
- Testing and commissioning: Coordinate testing, commissioning, inspections, defect rectification and certification requirements as projects approach completion.
- Project handover: Manage practical completion and final handover, ensuring required certifications,

as-built information, manuals and project documentation are completed and provided.
- Project close-out: Finalise outstanding variations, costs, defects and documentation to ensure projects are properly completed both operationally and commercially.

Our work covers a range of fire protection systems including sprinklers, hydrants, fire detection, alarms and associated systems, across major construction and installation projects, so no two projects are quite the same.

What we’re looking for

You’ll ideally bring

- Project management or construction delivery experience
- Strong organisational and coordination skills
- Commercial awareness and confidence managing project costs
- Excellent client and subcontractor communication
- A practical, hands-on approach to problem solving
- The ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
- A strong focus on quality and getting the job finished properly

Fire protection experience is certainly welcomed, but attitude, project capability and relevant construction experience are equally significant to us. Why Firerite?

Firerite Services has been operating in Brisbane since 1995, specialising in the design, installation, certification and maintenance of fire protection systems. Our project team delivers major fire protection installations across Tier 1 and large-scale construction projects.

If you’re ready to take ownership of projects and become part of an experienced fire protection team, apply now.
