About the role The Quality Control Officer makes sure every benchtop, splashback and vanity top that leaves our factory meets our specifications, the client's drawings and Australian standards. You will inspect stone from slab arrival through cutting, edging and polishing to final dispatch, catch defects early, and work with production to stop them recurring.

Key responsibilities

- Inspect incoming slabs (natural stone, porcelain, sintered and other approved surfaces) for cracks, chips, colour and pattern variation, thickness and flatness before they enter production.
- Check batch and lot numbers, supplier certificates and product compliance documents; reject or quarantine non-conforming stock.
- Record slab condition with photos so issues can be raised with suppliers.
- Check CNC, saw and waterjet output against shop drawings and templates: dimensions, cut-outs for sinks and cooktops, tap holes and squareness.
- Inspect edge profiles, mitres, laminations, joins and polishing for consistency and finish.
- Verify vein and pattern matching across joins and waterfall ends.
- Stop or flag work when a defect is found and help operators find the cause.
- Carry out a final check of each job against the order before packing.
- Confirm correct labelling,



protective packaging and secure loading on A-frames to prevent transit damage.
- Keep inspection checklists, non-conformance reports (NCRs) and defect logs up to date.

About you

- 2+ years in quality control, inspection or production in stone fabrication, joinery, cabinetry or similar manufacturing.
- Ability to read shop drawings, templates and technical specifications.
- Sharp eye for detail: able to spot fine chips, scratches, polishing marks and colour mismatches.
- Confident with measuring tools and accurate record keeping.
- Transparent communicator who can raise problems with operators and managers constructively.
- Basic computer skills (spreadsheets, email, job management software).
- Australian working rights and a current driver's licence.
- Forklift licence and experience with overhead cranes or vacuum lifters (desirable).
