The Australian Defence Force offers a 12-month Gap Year program for aspiring Army Chefs. You will train in field kitchens, Navy vessels and Army establishments, cooking a range of meals to support morale and wellbeing of Defence members.

You’ll train at Kapooka before moving to HMAS Cerberus, Vic, then be posted to units across Australia. Citizenship is required, aged 17–24 at enlistment, with progression opportunities into the Army or Army Reserve.
