The Opportunity

A large, global retail business is seeking a Commercial Analyst to join its high-performing finance team. Operating across an extensive store and customer network in Australia and New Zealand, the business is a recognised market leader.

This role will play a key part in supporting commercial performance, specifically across their Marketing and Digital divisions. You will work closely with senior stakeholders to deliver insight-led analysis, support promotional initiatives and drive improved financial outcomes. Following a recent resignation, they are looking for someone to start as soon as possible. The role is initially offered as a 6-month temp-to-perm opportunity, although candidates with a 4-week notice period are also encouraged to apply.

The Challenge

Reporting to the Commercial Finance Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

- Delivering detailed analysis across sales, margins and operating costs, identifying trends and opportunities to improve business performance
- Preparing management reporting and performance analysis, providing insights into key variances, business drivers and financial results




- Partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to support commercial initiatives, evaluate business opportunities and inform decision-making
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting and planning processes, providing greater visibility over financial performance
- Developing financial models and business cases to assess the impact of key initiatives and support strategic decisions
- Supporting month-end processes including management reporting and financial analysis

The Expertise

Please consider expressing interest in this position if you possess the following:

- Minimum 3 + years' experience within accounting, ideally currently working in an industry role within a large corporate, ideally across the retail, wholesale or a similar viewed as favourable
- Tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting or Commerce, with CA or CPA qualification (or near completion)
- Advanced Excel skills, with exposure to Power BI or similar reporting tools advantageous
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders across finance, sales and operations
- Robust analytical capability with ability to interpret data, identify trends and provide meaningful recommendations beyond the numbers
- High attention to detail with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset
