You will work closely with an experienced Partner on a broad range of high-quality commercial and civil litigation matters, acting for individuals, businesses, and corporate clients across a variety of disputes. This role offers strong autonomy, direct client contact, and the opportunity to take ownership of matters from initial instruction through to resolution, while being supported by experienced practitioners.

Key responsibilities

- Advising clients on a broad range of commercial and civil disputes
- Managing litigation and dispute resolution matters from commencement through to completion
- Drafting pleadings, statements of claim, defences, affidavits, correspondence, submissions, and other court documents
- Conducting legal research and providing clear, practical advice to clients
- Preparing matters for interlocutory applications, mediations, directions hearings, and trials
- Representing clients in negotiations, mediations, and court proceedings where appropriate
- Managing discovery, evidence, subpoenas, and other litigation processes
- Briefing and working effectively with barristers and other external practitioners
- Developing litigation strategies that achieve commercially sensible outcomes for clients
- Managing client relationships and providing regular updates on matter progress

About you

- Admitted to practice in Victoria
- 3–4+ years post-admission experience in litigation




- Strong experience in civil and/or commercial litigation
- Demonstrated experience managing matters with a high degree of autonomy
- Robust advocacy, drafting, negotiation, and communication skills
- Experience appearing in courts and tribunals will be highly regarded
- Experience in mediation and alternative dispute resolution
- Strong legal research and analytical skills
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage competing deadlines
- Commercially minded with a practical and strategic approach to dispute resolution
