About the role

Full time or Part time available

This is a varied, hands-on position suited to someone who enjoys working with people and being part of a friendly team. The role involves providing excellent customer service, operating the point of sale/register and assisting with the preparation and production of fresh products within the butcher shop.

Key responsibilities

- Greet customers warmly and provide friendly, professional customer service

- Assist customers with enquiries, product selections and general assistance

- Operate the point of sale/register and EFTPOS terminal, processing sales and payments accurately

- Pack customer purchases and ensure orders are prepared correctly

- Assist with the production and preparation of fresh products, including sausages, burgers, marinades and other value-added products

- Assist with packaging, labelling and displaying fresh meat products

- Maintain clean, tidy and hygienic work areas, including the shop floor, counters and production areas





- Replenish displays and ensure products are presented attractively

- Follow food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety procedures

- Work collaboratively with butchers and other team members to ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the shop

- Willingness to learn new skills and assist with hands-on production duties

- Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment

- Previous retail food outlet experience is desirable

- Availability to work weekends and flexible shifts as required

- Willingness to follow all food safety and hygiene requirements
- A positive attitude and a strong work ethic
