About the role

You'll be a friendly, knowledgeable face of Lucia's, serving customers across the retail floor, panini and charcuterie counters. From making made-to-order panini to helping people choose the right cured meats for their next platter, you'll also keep the store looking its best.

Key responsibilities

- Serve and advise customers in-store and at the panini and charcuterie counter, offering recommendations and providing top level customer service
- Receive, rotate and merchandise stock, keeping displays fresh, full and appealing
- Maintain food safety, hygiene and temperature control standards at all times
- Operate the point of sale, handle cash and card transactions, and process orders accurately
- Keep the counter, cool rooms and shop floor clean and organised
- Help with stock takes,



ordering and monitoring stock levels and use-by dates

About you

- Genuine passion for food, with an interest in cheese, charcuterie, and specialty and gourmet products
- Warm, confident customer service skills and a love of sharing your knowledge
- Previous experience in retail, hospitality, a deli or a food environment
- A strong understanding of, or willingness to learn, food safety and handling practices
- Attention to detail, with a good eye for presentation
- Reliable, team-minded and comfortable on your feet in a busy environment
- Availability to work a mix of weekdays and weekends, as the roster requires
