Safety Inspector

We are seeking an experienced Safety Inspector to join our team to help:

- Conduct workplace inspections to ensure compliance with work health and safety legislation, regulations and industry standards
- Inspect machinery, plant, equipment and working conditions to identify safety hazards and non-compliance
- Monitor workplace safety practices and recommend corrective actions to maintain safe working environments
- Support ONECORE's continued growth by maintaining effective workplace safety inspection and compliance standards

Key Responsibilities





- Conduct regular inspections of workplaces, construction sites, machinery, plant and equipment to assess compliance with relevant work health and safety legislation, regulations and industry standards.
- Examine equipment specifications, operating procedures and safety documentation to verify compliance with applicable safety requirements.
- Inspect and assess machinery, equipment, personal protective equipment and safety devices to ensure they meet required safety standards and remain serviceable.
- Observe workplace activities and operational practices to identify unsafe conditions, hazards and non-compliance with established safety procedures.
- Inspect the handling, storage and use of hazardous substances and combustible materials to ensure compliance with relevant safety requirements.
- Assess fire prevention equipment, emergency response facilities, first aid supplies and other safety provisions to ensure compliance with applicable standards.
- Conduct workplace safety inspections and compliance assessments, documenting findings and identifying areas requiring corrective action.
- Investigate workplace accidents, incidents and near misses to identify contributing factors and collect evidence of potential non-compliance with safety legislation.
- Prepare detailed inspection reports, incident findings and compliance documentation, including recommendations for corrective and preventive actions.
- Monitor the implementation of corrective actions and conduct follow-up inspections to verify compliance with safety requirements.
- Provide advice to management, supervisors, contractors and employees regarding workplace safety regulations, legislative obligations and compliance requirements.
- Assist in conducting safety meetings,



workplace safety campaigns and training activities to promote awareness of safety standards and regulatory requirements.

We are looking for

- Hands-on experience conducting workplace safety inspections and compliance assessments
- Experience within the construction, mining, resources or engineering industries will be highly regarded
- Experience inspecting machinery, plant, equipment and workplace conditions for compliance with safety standards
- Experience identifying workplace hazards, assessing safety risks and recommending corrective actions
- Experience conducting incident investigations and preparing inspection and compliance reports
- Sound understanding of Australian work health and safety legislation, regulations, codes of practice and industry standards
- Experience monitoring workplace safety procedures, protective equipment and hazardous material handling practices
- Ability to interpret technical specifications, safety documentation and regulatory requirements
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels
- Strong attention to detail, analytical skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Technically sound, solutions focused and confident with systems and technology

Essentials

- Minimum 3 years’ experience in workplace safety inspections and/or occupational health and safety compliance – Preferred
- Relevant qualification in Work Health and Safety, Occupational Health and Safety or a related discipline – Preferred
- Construction, mining or resources industry experience – Preferred
- Valid Driver’s Licence
- Full Australian working rights
- Positive attitude
