The role involves preparing sales proposals and quotations, coordinating with engineering and manufacturing teams, negotiating commercial terms, and developing strong customer relationships to support business growth and sales performance.

Task &

responsibilities Identify prospective business customers, including transport companies, logistics operators, fleet owners and other commercial establishments, to generate sales opportunities for company’s semi-trailers and related industrial transport products. Develop and maintain a database of prospective and existing customers through industry directories, market research, referrals, networking and direct business engagement. Visit and consult with prospective and existing customers to assess their operational requirements and recommend suitable semi-trailer products, configurations and specifications.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the company’s product range, manufacturing capabilities, product specifications, pricing, delivery arrangements and relevant competitor offerings to provide accurate information to customers.



Explain the features, applications, performance characteristics and operational benefits of semi-trailers and related industrial products, including relevant payload capacities, axle configurations, suspension systems and braking components. Prepare and submit sales quotations, product proposals and commercial offers that reflect customer requirements, product specifications, agreed pricing and anticipated delivery schedules.

Negotiate product prices, payment terms, delivery arrangements and other commercial conditions within the company’s approved policies and delegated authority, and facilitate the completion of sales agreements and customer orders. Liaise with engineering, manufacturing and production personnel to confirm product availability, manufacturing feasibility, approved specifications and delivery timeframes for customer orders. Coordinate confirmed orders with relevant internal departments, maintain accurate order records and communicate order progress, approved changes and delivery arrangements to customers.

Monitor customer requirements, market conditions, competitor products and pricing, and industry developments to identify emerging sales opportunities and provide relevant reports and recommendations to management. Follow up with customers after sales to confirm satisfaction with products and delivery arrangements, respond to product-related enquiries and coordinate the resolution of issues with the appropriate internal personnel. Establish and maintain long-term business relationships with commercial customers to encourage repeat purchases, identify additional fleet requirements and support the company’s ongoing sales growth.

Prepare regular sales activity reports covering customer visits, prospective leads, quotations issued,



orders secured, sales performance, market trends and customer feedback. Maintain accurate customer records, sales documentation, order information and business expense records in accordance with company procedures. Qualification &

experience A relevant Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design or in a related discipline. At least two (2) years of relevant experience in industrial product sales, technical sales, machinery sales, engineering-related sales or a similar business-to-business sales position. Sound knowledge of industrial products, mechanical components, manufacturing processes and technical product specifications, preferably relating to semi-trailers, heavy vehicles or transport equipment.

Demonstrated ability to identify prospective customers, develop sales opportunities and establish productive business relationships with commercial and industrial clients. Ability to assess customer requirements, recommend appropriate products and clearly explain product features, specifications, applications and operational benefits.

Experience preparing sales quotations, commercial proposals and product documentation, negotiating prices and payment terms, and coordinating customer orders. Strong understanding of market research, competitor analysis, customer relationship management and sales pipeline development. Excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage professionally with customers and coordinate effectively with internal engineering, manufacturing and production teams.

Strong organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple customer accounts, sales opportunities and delivery requirements. Ability to work independently and collaboratively, maintain accurate sales records and prepare reports on sales performance, customer activity and market developments.
