About the role

This is a Retail Security Officer position (required a long hour of standing) responsible for maintaining security and safety across multiple locations including LaManna Supermarket in Essendon Fields, Centre land Broadmeadows, and 206 Bourke Street.

Key responsibilities

- Politely greet customers as they enter and exit the store

- If you suspect a customer is leaving with groceries without a receipt, politely ask, "Have you paid for your groceries?"

- Do not take direct action if a customer cannot produce a receipt. Immediately notify store management and allow them to handle the matter

- Approximately 3 minutes before the shift ends, collect the key from a staff member and turn both the left and right doors to the locked position





- Immediately return the key to an available staff member

- Remain at your post until the final customer has left the store before departing

- Conduct regular patrols around the centre and maintain a visible security presence

- Monitor entrances, exits, surrounding areas, and nearby bus stops and train stations

- Watch for anti-social behaviour, loitering, shouting, disturbances, suspicious activity, and unauthorised access

- Politely warn individuals engaging in inappropriate behaviour and request that they stop or leave when necessary
