Senior Accountant Accounting and Finance | Financial Accounting

Melbourne city fringe | Hybrid | $120,000 to $140,000 plus super A large, asset intensive Australian business is appointing a Senior Accountant. The role owns month end, the rolling cash flow forecast, and the accounting treatment of a significant investment portfolio. It sits close to CFO reporting and carries genuine technical judgement.

The business invests steadily in its asset base and systems. That keeps the accounting questions substantive, and the role is the go to voice on how that spend is treated.

The Role

- Leads month end deliverables, including journals, accruals, reconciliations and results review
- Owns the rolling cash flow forecast and explains material movements to senior finance
- Advises on the treatment of capital and project spend, including work in progress, intangibles and impairment
- Analyses performance and project spend for management and CFO reporting
- Partners with stakeholders across the business, inside and outside Finance
- Simplifies and automates recurring processes using modern ERP and reporting tools

Background Required

- CA or CPA qualified, with five or more years in financial accounting or financial control




- Solid Australian Accounting Standards knowledge and hands on month end experience
- Experience accounting for capital expenditure, fixed assets or intangibles
- Demonstrated ownership of cash flow forecasting
- Confidence explaining and challenging financial positions with non finance stakeholders
- Full Australian working rights
- Well suited to someone ready for their second move in industry after starting in public practice
