Role Description The Senior Cofounder and Developer will help shape the strategic direction and technological foundation of Shared Smiles as it scales its mental health and psychometric services. This part-time, remote role involves leading product development for digital platforms, including architecting, coding, testing, and maintaining web or mobile applications that deliver assessments and counseling resources.

The role includes collaborating with psychologists, psychometric experts, designers, and other team members to translate program needs into user-centered technical solutions.

The Senior

Cofounder and Developer will also contribute to fundraising pitches, partnerships, and growth strategies, providing technical insight to support sustainable impact.



Day-to-day tasks may include refining the product roadmap, implementing new features, improving data security and privacy, and monitoring performance to ensure a reliable experience for users.

Qualifications

- Strong analytical skills, including problem-solving, data interpretation, and the ability to make informed product and technical decisions.
- Clear and empathetic communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary, remote teams and explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Sales and marketing skills to support outreach, partnership development, and promotion of Shared Smiles’ services to institutions, communities, and potential funders.
- Research skills to stay current with mental health, psychometric practices, and relevant technologies, and to inform evidence-based product improvements.
- Proven experience in software development (e.g., full-stack web or mobile development), including familiarity with modern frameworks, version control, and secure data handling.
- Experience or strong interest in mental health, psychology, or social impact initiatives, with a commitment to ethical and inclusive practices.
- Ability to work independently in a remote workplace, manage part-time hours effectively, and take ownership of cofounder-level responsibilities.
- Previous startup, nonprofit, or founding experience is beneficial, as well as experience with product management or technical leadership.
