We are seeking an experienced Senior Environmental Officer to support the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) in the delivery of road infrastructure, construction and maintenance projects across the North Coast Region.

Based in Buderim, you will provide high-level technical environmental advice across a diverse portfolio of projects and regional road maintenance programs.

This is an excellent chance for an experienced environmental professional with strong TMR knowledge to secure a long-term contract supporting major transport infrastructure delivery.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide technical environmental advice across project planning, design, construction and maintenance.
- Prepare and review environmental assessments, management plans, permits and approval documentation.
- Advise on Queensland and Commonwealth environmental legislation, approvals and environmental offsets.
- Conduct environmental audits, site inspections and compliance assessments.
- Support TMR maintenance contracts through environmental reviews, training and site inspections.
- Contribute to environmental program management, reporting and stakeholder engagement.

About You To be successful in this role, you will have:





- Minimum 7 years' experience working on TMR projects in either a client-side or contractor capacity.
- Strong knowledge of TMR specifications, policies, procedures and environmental guidelines.
- Experience with EPBC Act referrals and environmental offsets.
- Demonstrated experience in environmental management across civil construction, road infrastructure or transport projects.
- Strong understanding of environmental legislation, approval requirements and compliance obligations.
- Experience preparing environmental documentation and conducting audits and site inspections.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary project teams.
- Current C Class driver's licence and Construction White Card.

Contract Details

- Duration: 3-year contract.
- Location: Buderim, Sunshine Coast.
- Hours: Up to 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
- Flexibility: Potential for remote working arrangements, subject to approval and operational requirements.
