About the Role

Reporting to the General Manager Finance, this is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong Senior Financial Accountant looking to take greater ownership and broaden their experience within an established national business.

This is a hands-on role with responsibility across month-end reporting, financial accounting, statutory compliance, audit and balance sheet management. You will play an key role in maintaining accurate financial reporting, strengthening internal controls and identifying opportunities to improve existing processes.

The position will also provide exposure to supporting and mentoring junior finance staff, making it particularly attractive to someone who enjoys taking ownership of their work while continuing to develop their leadership capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage month-end and year-end reporting processes, including journals, accruals, reconciliations and financial analysis

- Prepare and review financial statements, management reports and balance sheet reconciliations

- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and statutory obligations, including BAS, GST, FBT and payroll tax

- Assist with external audit processes and the preparation of supporting documentation





- Provide technical accounting guidance and support to junior finance team members

- Identify and implement improvements to financial reporting, processes, systems and internal controls

- Work closely with the broader finance team and operational stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely financial information

About You

- CA or CPA qualified, or nearing completion

- Proven experience in a Financial Accountant or Senior Financial Accountant position, ideally within a medium to large organisation

- Strong technical accounting skills with experience across month-end reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, statutory compliance and audit

- Sound knowledge of Australian accounting standards and taxation requirements

- Robust attention to detail, organisational skills and the ability to manage competing deadlines
- A proactive approach to problem-solving, with an interest in improving existing processes and efficiencies

- Previous experience mentoring or supporting junior finance staff would be advantageous

- Confident communicator who enjoys working collaboratively across a business

Location & Working Arrangements

This position is based in North Brisbane and requires someone comfortable working five days per week in the office.
