Perth Based | 12 month + Contract | Established International Resources Company

TSS Group has been engaged by an established, internationally operating resources company to recruit a Senior Legal Counsel to join its Perth-based team.

Reporting directly to the General Counsel and Company Secretary, this position offers the chance to work across a broad range of commercial, operational and corporate legal matters within a business with a significant international footprint.

Working closely with stakeholders across the organisation, you will provide practical, commercially focused legal advice while contributing to the management of legal risk, regulatory compliance and corporate governance.

This is a hands-on position offering direct exposure to senior leadership, involvement in commercial decision-making and the opportunity to further develop your experience in corporate governance and company secretarial matters.

The Role

This position is suited to a commercially minded lawyer who enjoys working closely with operational teams and providing practical solutions to business challenges.

Key responsibilities include

- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts and agreements.

- Providing legal advice across a broad range of commercial and operational matters.

- Identifying and managing contractual, legal and regulatory risks.

- Working closely with internal stakeholders to achieve commercial objectives while protecting the company's interests.

- Monitoring relevant legislative and regulatory developments and advising on their implications.

- Assisting the General Counsel with corporate governance and company secretarial responsibilities.





- Contributing to the development and improvement of legal policies, procedures and processes.

About You

We are seeking a qualified lawyer with strong commercial acumen, sound judgement and the ability to operate effectively within a busy corporate environment.

Ideally, you will offer:

- A recognised law degree and approximately 5–10 years' post-admission experience.

- Experience in commercial law, particularly drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.

- Previous experience within mining, resources, energy, infrastructure or a related industry, although this is not essential.

- Experience gained in-house or within a reputable commercial law firm.

- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

- The ability to balance legal risk with commercial and operational objectives.

- A proactive, practical approach and the confidence to work independently.

- Exposure to corporate governance or company secretarial matters will be well regarded.

Importantly, we are looking for someone who understands that effective legal advice goes beyond identifying risks. You will be comfortable working with stakeholders to develop practical solutions that allow the business to operate effectively while maintaining appropriate legal protections.
