- Full-time, ongoing position based at our Hawthorn campus
- Hew 9 + 17% super and staff advantages

About The Role Lead Swinburne's sustainability reporting and asset performance as our Senior Manager, Sustainability & Asset Performance. In this influential leadership role, you will build and own the data foundations, reporting frameworks and governance practices that drive evidence-based decision making across our built environment. Leading a multidisciplinary team of specialists across sustainability, asset analytics, lifecycle planning, engineering systems, maintenance planning and compliance, you will ensure asset performance data is accurate, reliable and translatable into meaningful insights for investment planning, risk management and regulatory compliance across our portfolio.

A key focus of the role is embedding sustainability and decarbonisation objectives, including Swinburne's Net Zero pathway, into asset-level reporting and capital planning decisions. This is a unique opportunity to shape how a leading university uses data and evidence to balance sustainability commitments, operational performance and long-term asset value. Ideal for someone who is analytically rigorous and operationally grounded, this role offers the chance to make a lasting impact on Swinburne's sustainability and infrastructure future.

About You To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:

- Build and own a coherent, multi-year Asset Performance framework that integrates sustainability reporting, lifecycle data and performance analytics to inform estate investment decisions
- Balance competing technical priorities across disciplines (e.g. compliance urgency versus capital constraint) and translate them into transparent, defensible evidence-based recommendations
- Represent asset performance data, reporting and evidence to executive and Council-level stakeholders and governance bodies.
- Translate Swinburne's decarbonisation and energy performance commitments, including its Net Zero pathway, into asset-level targets embedded in capital and maintenance investment decisions.
- Manage Swinburne's sustainability certification obligations, including supporting the university's current transition in relation to Climate Active, and ensuring compliance requirements are met through the transition period
- Lead and develop a multi-disciplinary team of technical specialists,

setting clear accountability and performance expectations for each direct report.
- Build team capability and identify specialist capability gaps, engaging external expertise where required.
- Ensure statutory maintenance and compliance obligations relevant to building services (fire, HVAC, essential safety measures) are met, via oversight of the Senior Officer, Maintenance Planning & Compliance.

Qualifications For more information please refer to the Tertiary qualifications in engineering, built environment, asset management, sustainability, or a related technical discipline or progress towards postgraduate qualifications and extensive relevant experience; or extensive experience and management expertise; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
