/n We are partnering with a leading financial services organisation specialising in insurance to appoint a Senior Operations Accountant to join their Finance team./n
/n /n
/n Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, this is a broad and commercially focused role spanning finance operations, treasury, investments, taxation and financial control./n
/n /n
/n /n
About the Role/n
/n You will take ownership of key Finance operations while partnering closely with senior stakeholders across the business./n
/n /n
Key responsibilities include:/n
/n /n
- Managing treasury operations, bank reconciliations and cash forecasting.
/n
- Managing investment activities, compliance and portfolio monitoring.
/n
- Managing reinsurance collateral balances and reconciliations.
/n
- Overseeing premium debtors, aged debt and provisions for doubtful debts.
/n
- Managing broker credit checks and financial reconciliations.
/n
- Reviewing month-end journals and supporting financial reporting.
/n
- Overseeing taxation and regulatory returns, including GST, FBT, PAYG and stamp duty.
/n
- Managing relationships with external tax advisors, banking and investment partners, and other key service providers.
/n
- Providing guidance to Finance team members and supporting the CFO with special projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

About You/n
/n A banking or financial services background is essential for this role.
Experience within insurance, banking or another regulated financial services environment will be highly regarded./n
/n /n
/n /n
You will ideally have:/n
/n /n
- CA/CPA qualification and a relevant degree.
/n
- 5+ years' experience in progressively senior Finance roles.
/n
- Strong commercial accounting experience.
/n
- Exposure to insurance accounting, reinsurance, investments, claims, reserving, capital and risk management is highly desirable.
/n
- Experience working with auditors, regulators, taxation bodies, banking and investment providers.
/n
- Strong Excel, analytical and numerical skills.
/n
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
/n
- A proactive, commercially minded approach with strong attention to detail.
/n
- Big Four experience will be viewed favourably.
