We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager who has worked within membership-based organisations to lead a commercially significant business transformation initiative involving membership data, business rules, revenue collection and operational improvement.
This is a hands-on, end-to-end business transformation role, not a traditional IT Project Manager position. We are looking for someone who can take ownership of a complex business challenge, bring stakeholders together and drive delivery through to implementation.
The opportunity
You will lead a national initiative focused on improving the accuracy of membership records, establishing consistent membership definitions and modernising the processes supporting affiliation fees and revenue collection.
Working across multiple state-based associations, internal stakeholders and external vendors, you will:
- Define membership rules and classifications , working with stakeholders to establish consistent definitions, eligibility criteria and affiliation arrangements.
- Lead membership data cleansing and reconciliation ,
coordinating specialist data resources to validate records, identify discrepancies and establish a reliable membership database.
- Develop commercial business cases , assessing the financial implications of membership discrepancies, revenue impacts and proposed improvements.
- Influence stakeholders nationally , navigating different state-based arrangements, competing priorities and sensitive commercial conversations to achieve agreement.
- Oversee technology vendors , managing enhancements to an existing membership management platform to support improved affiliation fee collection.
- Improve operational and revenue processes , including membership administration, billing, invoicing and fee collection.
- Drive end-to-end delivery , from discovery and business requirements through to implementation, stakeholder adoption and embedding new ways of working.
About you Experience working within a membership-based organisation is essential. This may include industry or skilled associations, member-owned organisations, sporting bodies or other organisations operating with formal membership structures.
You will bring
- Demonstrated experience delivering business transformation projects within a membership-based environment , with an understanding of membership models, structures and associated commercial processes.
- Experience establishing or improving membership definitions, classifications, business rules or eligibility criteria .
- Proven experience leading data cleansing, reconciliation,
validation or data quality improvement initiatives involving member records.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen , including developing business cases, assessing revenue implications and improving financial or billing processes.
- The ability to engage and influence complex stakeholder groups, particularly across multiple states, associations or independently operated business units .
- Experience working with external technology vendors to deliver business system enhancements and operational improvements.
- Strong end-to-end project delivery skills, with the confidence to take ownership of outcomes rather than simply manage governance and reporting.
You will be pragmatic, commercially astute and collaborative, with the emotional intelligence to navigate sensitive stakeholder relationships and the willingness to roll up your sleeves in a lean organisation. We are also interested in individuals who have held broader operational or business leadership responsibilities alongside their project management experience.
Previous experience in the sporting sector is not required. What matters is your understanding of membership-based organisations and your ability to deliver meaningful business change.
What's on offer?
- $160,000–$180,000 package including superannuation
- 18-month fixed-term contract
- Hybrid working – generally 2–3 days per week onsite in Cheltenham
- Ownership of a commercially significant national transformation initiative
- Opportunity to contribute to an internationally recognised organisation undergoing meaningful change
If you have successfully delivered membership-related transformation involving data integrity, commercial processes and complex stakeholder engagement, we would welcome your application. Apply through Frazer Tremble Executive.
