Asset Management Services and Technology

Located in Perth, our team of engineers and data analysts takes a practical approach to whole-of-life asset management, built on operational knowledge of our clients' assets and condition-based renewal decision-making. Our people have delivered strategic planning and long-term capital programming, infrastructure engineering, active project engineering, maintenance strategy and shutdown delivery projects.

The role

You will lead rail engineering work for asset owners and operators, help grow the business and develop the next generation of engineers.

What you will do

- Lead rail engineering for renewal, maintenance and upgrade projects, including condition assessment, scope development and review of designs and construction methodologies
- Work with our analytics team to use rail condition monitoring data (track geometry, rail wear and inspection) in evidence-based renewal plans and maintenance programmes
- Manage project delivery against time, cost, safety and quality requirements,



including forecasting and reporting
- Provide independent technical advice to clients, including construction advisory and tender evaluation
- Identify and secure new opportunities through new and existing client relationships
- Lead or contribute to tenders, EOIs and proposals, including scope, methodology and pricing
- Represent Silver Edge at industry forums and associations
- Build long-term, trusted relationships with asset owners and operators
- Manage contractor interfaces on behalf of clients, including scope, compliance, possession planning and acceptance of works
- Resolve technical and commercial issues with a practical understanding of how work is delivered in the field
- Mentor graduate and early career engineers through field exposure, technical review and guidance

About you

- 10+ years of rail engineering experience on Australian networks (heavy haul, freight or passenger)
- Degree in civil engineering or equivalent; CPEng or NER registration desirable
- Solid working knowledge of track standards, network owner codes of practice and possession planning
- Experience on both the delivery side and the client or owner side of rail projects




- Comfortable working with data to support engineering decisions (programming is not required)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, and an understanding of the value of working collaboratively and sharing knowledge
