We're partnering with a large Federal Government organisation responsible for delivering critical services to millions of Australians. With a significant technology footprint and ongoing investment in modern platforms and infrastructure, this team supports some of the country's most key digital services.

They're looking for an experienced Database Administrator to join a nationally distributed team, with opportunities available across Queensland, Victoria, South Australia and the ACT.

This is a hands-on role focused primarily on Microsoft SQL Server administration, supporting secure, highly available and high-performing database environments underpinning business-critical services. While SQL Server is the core focus, you'll also bring experience across IBM Db2 and MongoDB platforms, along with exposure to containerised environments and enterprise-scale infrastructure.

What You'll Be Doing

- Administering and supporting enterprise Microsoft SQL Server environments
- Managing database performance, availability, security and operational support
- Performing backup, recovery and high-availability administration
- Supporting IBM Db2 z/OS and Db2 Midrange platforms
- Administering MongoDB environments including replication, performance and recovery
- Supporting database workloads operating in containerised environments
- Identifying and managing platform, deployment and operational risks
- Planning and delivering database upgrades and migrations
- Maintaining service continuity, data integrity and platform availability




- Producing technical documentation and contributing to knowledge-sharing initiatives

What We're Looking For

Essential Experience

- Expert-level Microsoft SQL Server administration experience including:
- Performance tuning
- Backup and recovery
- High availability
- Security administration
- Enterprise operational support
- Expert-level IBM Db2 z/OS administration experience
- Expert-level IBM Db2 Midrange administration experience
- Expert-level MongoDB administration experience including:
- Replication
- Backup and recovery
- Performance tuning
- Data consistency
- Experience supporting database platforms within containerised environments
- Demonstrated experience planning, validating and implementing database upgrades and migrations while maintaining service continuity and data integrity

Desirable Experience

- Experience working within large Government or enterprise ICT environments
- Experience contributing to technical documentation, knowledge transfer and capability uplift activities

Clearance Requirement

You must hold a current Australian Government NV1 Security Clearance at the time of application.
