Hoopla Bayswater is looking for an experienced, hands-on Head Chef to help establish our new kitchen, build an awesome team and set high standards from day one. Reporting to the Group Executive Chef and Venue Manager, you will take ownership of daily kitchen operations and lead from the front.
Key responsibilities
- Support the opening and establishment of the new kitchen
- Lead kitchen preparation, daily operations and service
- Train, mentor and nurture your team, monitor performance and create a positive, supportive working environment
- Build a culture of teamwork, respect, accountability and pride
- Maintain consistent food quality, presentation and portion control
- Manage ordering, stock rotation, food costs and wastage
- Plan efficient rosters and manage kitchen labour
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and food safety
- Work with the Group Executive Chef and Venue Manager to implement systems and group standards
About you
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or a strong Sous Chef ready to step up
- Experience opening a current venue is desirable but not essential
- Confidence across all sections of a busy commercial kitchen, including grill and pass
- Strong organisation and the ability to remain calm under pressure
- A positive, respectful leadership style with clear communication and a commitment to developing others
- Reliability, honesty and dedication to your role
- Availability to work weekends and a rotating roster across all seven days of the week
