Director of Campus Operations

SPIRE Academy is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Director of Campus Operations to lead facility operations, maintenance, campus readiness, and event support across one of the nation's premier academic and athletic campuses.

This role is responsible for ensuring that SPIRE's facilities, building systems, operational processes, and event infrastructure consistently support an exceptional experience for student-athletes, staff, guests, partners, and visitors. The Director of Campus Operations will oversee maintenance operations, facility readiness, event support, vendor management, operational technology, and continuous improvement initiatives across campus. The role is expected to leverage software, data, automation, and AI as core tools for managing and improving operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and develop SPIRE's Campus Operations team.
- Oversee facility maintenance, preventive maintenance programs, repairs, inspections, certifications, and operational readiness.
- Manage campus building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire/life safety, aquatics, and related infrastructure.
- Coordinate vendors, contractors, service providers, purchasing, inventory, and departmental budgets.
- Partner with departments across SPIRE to ensure facilities are safe, functional, organized, and guest-ready.

Event Operations

- Serve as the primary operational leader supporting major competitions, camps, tournaments, showcases, conferences, banquets, and special events.
- Coordinate facility readiness, setup, breakdown, logistics, equipment deployment,



housekeeping support, and operational staffing requirements.
- Participate in event planning meetings and post-event reviews.
- Develop and maintain event checklists, playbooks, communication processes, and operational standards.
- Collaborate closely with Athletics, Events, Academy, Safety, Residence Life, Food & Beverage, and IT to deliver exceptional event experiences.

Technology & Process Improvement

- Champion the use of facility-management software, automation tools, dashboards, and AI.
- Maintain digital work-order, preventive-maintenance, and asset-management systems.
- Use technology to improve communication, accountability, reporting, efficiency, and decision-making.
- Build repeatable processes that create consistency and operational excellence across campus.

Qualifications

- Leadership experience in facilities management, operations, event operations, venue management, hospitality, campus operations, property management, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of commercial building systems and facility operations.
- Experience leading teams, managing vendors, and coordinating multiple priorities.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.




- Robust technology skills with a willingness to embrace AI and automation tools.
- Ability to support occasional evening and weekend events.

Scope Clarification This position is responsible for facility operations, maintenance, event support, building systems, operational technology, and campus readiness. Outside grounds maintenance, landscaping, athletic field maintenance, and snow removal are not responsibilities of this role and will remain under the direction of Dave Meister and his team.
