Expressions of Interest for a Stakeholder Engagement Officer based in Melbourne. This role is permanent.

The purpose of the Stakeholder Engagement Officer - Victoria role is to deliver NHVR’s stakeholder engagement strategies by building and maintaining strong industry and government relationships, facilitating meaningful engagement, and providing targeted information and education. The role identifies and responds to emerging stakeholder issues and opportunities, supports positive behavioural change, and contributes to improved heavy vehicle safety, productivity and regulatory outcomes across Victoria.

Key responsibilities of this role are:

1. Coordinate and deliver stakeholder engagement activities across Victoria in alignment with NHVR strategies, priorities and engagement frameworks, fostering meaningful participation, collaboration and partnerships.
2. Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including industry, government, road managers and industry associations, to strengthen collaboration, mutual understanding and positive regulatory outcomes.
3. Deliver targeted information, education and engagement initiatives that build understanding of Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL) obligations, address regulatory risks,



influence positive behaviours and support improved heavy vehicle safety and productivity.
4. Contribute to maintaining and strengthening the NHVR’s reputation as a trusted, accessible and contemporary regulator through skilled, proactive and responsive stakeholder engagement.
5. Support the implementation of NHVR stakeholder engagement strategies, initiatives and priorities, working collaboratively across the organisation to ensure a consistent and coordinated approach to engagement.
6. Proactively identify, monitor and communicate emerging stakeholder issues, industry trends, operational challenges and external risks, providing insights and advice to inform regulatory decisions, organisational priorities and engagement approaches.
7. Facilitate two-way communication and consultation with stakeholders, ensuring industry perspectives, feedback and operational insights are captured, shared and considered in organisational decision-making and continuous improvement.
8. Monitor stakeholder feedback, satisfaction and engagement outcomes, identifying opportunities to strengthen relationships, improve customer experience and enhance the effectiveness of NHVR engagement activities.
