This role is essential to ensuring accurate inventory levels, maintaining product quality and supporting the smooth day-to-day running of our warehouse operations.

About the Role

As Stock Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing stock movements, monitoring inventory levels and ensuring products are accurately recorded, stored and managed throughout the warehouse.

Working closely with the warehouse supervisors, picking, packing and dispatch teams, you will help maintain stock accuracy, minimise waste and ensure products are available when required.

Key Responsibilities

● Conduct regular stocktakes, cycle counts and inventory reconciliations.

● Investigate stock discrepancies, shortages, damaged goods and system errors.

● Ensure stock movements are accurately recorded in the inventory management system.

● Maintain correct product labelling, batch tracking and date-code accuracy.

● Implement and maintain FIFO (First In, First Out) and FEFO (First Expired, First Out) stock rotation practices where applicable.

● Monitor product shelf life and expiry dates to minimise waste and prevent out-of-date stock from being dispatched.

● Ensure temperature-controlled products are stored and handled in accordance with food safety requirements.

● Communicate stock shortages, low-stock items and discrepancies to management and relevant warehouse teams.

● Support purchasing and replenishment decisions by identifying stock requirements.

● Maintain a clean, organised and safe stock storage environment.

● Work collaboratively with the picking, packing, quality control and dispatch teams to support daily operations.

About You The ideal candidate will have:

● Previous experience in stock control, inventory management or warehouse operations.

● Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.

● Good organisational and time-management skills.

● Experience using inventory management systems, barcode scanners or warehouse management software.

● The ability to investigate discrepancies and resolve problems efficiently.

● An understanding of stock rotation, batch tracking and expiry-date management.

● Knowledge of food safety and temperature-controlled storage, ideally within meat, dairy or seafood.

● Good communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

● A proactive attitude and the ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

What We Offer

● An opportunity to take ownership of stock accuracy and inventory processes.

● A supportive and collaborative warehouse team.

● Hands-on involvement in improving warehouse efficiency and stock management.

● The prospect to develop your skills and grow within the business.
