Minato Sushi – Churchill Centre, Kilburn SA

Minato Sushi is looking for a reliable and experienced Sushi Maker to join our team at Churchill Centre.

This is a hands-on position preparing fresh sushi for a busy shopping-centre location. You will be responsible for producing rolls, nigiri and sushi packs while maintaining consistent quality, presentation and food-safety standards.

Key responsibilities

- Prepare sushi rolls, nigiri, snack packs and party packs
- Cook, season and handle sushi rice correctly
- Prepare seafood, chicken, vegetables, fillings and sauces
- Follow recipes, portion sizes and presentation standards
- Maintain a fresh, well-stocked and attractive sushi display
- Monitor production levels and prepare according to customer demand
- Reduce food waste through correct preparation and stock control
- Follow food-safety, temperature-control and allergen procedures
- Label, date, store and rotate ingredients correctly
- Maintain a clean and organised preparation area
- Assist with kitchen preparation,



packing and customer orders when required
- Work efficiently with the team during busy lunch periods

About you
- Previous commercial sushi-making experience is strongly preferred
- Confident preparing sushi rolls quickly and consistently
- Valuable knife skills and attention to presentation
- Understanding of food safety and kitchen hygiene
- Able to follow recipes and portion-control standards
- Reliable, punctual and comfortable working under pressure
- Able to work independently and as part of a small team
- Available for weekday and weekend shifts
- Australian working rights are required

Applicants with strong commercial kitchen experience and a genuine interest in learning sushi preparation may also be considered. Pay: $27.00 – $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15.0 – 30.0 per week
