Rush Roasting Co. is a local café and coffee bean roastery offering all-day breakfast, lunch and quality Australian café cuisine. With a strong focus on great coffee, fresh food, friendly service and a welcoming customer experience, we are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Café Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day operation and continued development of our café.

About the Role

n

As the Café Manager, you will play a key role in overseeing the daily operations of the business, supporting staff and maintaining high standards across customer service, food service and café operations.

n

Your responsibilities will include:

Managing and coordinating the day-to-day operations of the café, including front-of-house and back-of-house activities.

n
- n

Leading, supervising and supporting café staff to ensure efficient service and a positive workplace environment.

n
- n

Preparing staff rosters, allocating duties and ensuring appropriate staffing levels during trading periods.

n
- n

Maintaining consistently high standards of customer service, presentation and dining experience .

n
- n

Assisting with recruitment, staff training, performance management and ongoing development of team members.

n
- n

Managing stock levels,



ordering supplies and maintaining effective relationships with suppliers.

n
- n

Monitoring food, beverage and operational costs and supporting effective budget and cost control.

n
- n

Ensuring the café operates in accordance with relevant food safety, hygiene, workplace health and safety and regulatory requirements .

n
- n

Responding professionally to customer feedback and complaints and implementing improvements where appropriate.

n
- n

Coordinating promotional and marketing activities to support customer engagement and business growth.

n
- n

Monitoring the overall performance of the café and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, service quality and profitability.

n

Base Salary:

n

Salary: $75,000 - $85,000 + Superannuation

n

Skills & Experience

n

We are seeking a motivated hospitality professional with:

n

n
- n

Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in café, restaurant or hospitality management.

n
- n

Strong leadership and people-management skills.

n
- n

Excellent communication and customer service abilities.

n
- n

Ability to organise staff, rosters and daily café operations effectively.

n
- n





Understanding of stock control, purchasing and operational cost management.

n
- n

Knowledge of food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements.

n
- n

Ability to work effectively in a busy, customer-focused setting.

n
- n

A proactive approach to problem-solving and improving café operations.

n
- n

Hospitality qualifications are desirable but not essential where relevant practical experience can be demonstrated .

n
- n

Applicants who can communicate in more than one language will be highly regarded , particularly where this assists communication with customers, staff and suppliers

n

Qualifications:

Relevant qualification such as Diploma in Hospitality Management or equivalent (preferred but not mandatory with sufficient experience) OR minimum 3 years of work experience in similar setting to substitute work experience.
