About the role

Sales Representative for industrial spray technology products and systems. The role involves pursuing enquiries requiring technical input, visiting and compiling lists of existing and new customers, assessing customer needs, and suggesting appropriate products and services. You will respond to customer enquiries, generate proposals and quotations, research and present capabilities to customers, and assist in training customers on products and developments.

The position requires solving customer spray technology problems, identifying market opportunities, carrying out spray audits, writing technical proposal reports, and providing technical support. You will diagnose industrial process equipment on-site, generate technically accurate quotes, train customers and staff on new spray system technologies, and organize technical demonstrations at customer sites. The role covers the west and north-west of Melbourne/Victoria region.

Key responsibilities

- Pursue enquiries involving applications that require technical input with a focus on nozzles and spray systems
- Visit and compile lists of existing and new customers who may be of strategic importance to our organization
- Assess customer needs and suggest appropriate products and services to provide the best solution
- Respond to customer enquiries
- Generate customer proposals and quotations using existing templates
- Research, prepare and present capabilities to customers
- Assist in training new and current customers on products and current developments
- Negotiate prices and delivery times within limits of authority
- Identify, research, and contact prospective customers and build positive relationships that will generate future sales and repeat business
- Solve customer spray technology related problems and identify market opportunities

About you





- Engineering or technical degree required (electro-mechanical by preference, or similar by experience)
- Minimum of 5 years hands-on field experience with industrial fluid process equipment (nozzles, valves, sensors, tanks, piping, mixing, coating, conveying, blending, cleaning, industrial automation technologies)
- Good knowledge of the English language (both spoken and written)
- Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical components used in systems for industrial fluid handling
- Computer skills to effectively execute presentations and correspondence - Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Capable of using CRM or similar software
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent troubleshooting, analysis and diagnostic skills on system based equipment
- Capable of reading and interpreting engineering drawings supplied by customers
- Capable of writing technical proposal reports on spray solutions and presenting them to clients
