About the Role
Skretting Australia is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Accountant to support its financial management, accounting and reporting functions. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, analysing financial information and supporting compliance with relevant accounting standards and taxation requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Prepare and analyse financial statements, management reports and accounting records.
2. Maintain the general ledger and perform regular account reconciliations.
3. Monitor revenue, expenditure, operating costs and financial transactions.
4. Analyse financial information to identify discrepancies, cost variations and opportunities for improved financial control.
5. Assist with budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management.
6. Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports to support management decision-making.
7.
Assist with taxation compliance, BAS preparation and other statutory reporting obligations.
8. Review accounting procedures and internal controls to support accurate financial reporting.
9. Maintain appropriate financial documentation and ensure the integrity of accounting records.
10. Liaise with management, internal departments, auditors and external financial advisers as required.
Qualifications and Experience
1. A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline is required.
2. Relevant experience in accounting, financial reporting and account reconciliation.
3. Knowledge of accounting principles, financial controls and taxation compliance.
4. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
5. Solid analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills.
6. Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet reporting deadlines.
