Best Fruit at Mosman, operated by Chanda Fruits Pty Ltd, is a fresh produce retail business located in Mosman, NSW. We are dedicated to providing customers with quality fresh fruits, vegetables and other grocery products while maintaining high standards of customer service, product freshness and store presentation.

We are seeking an experienced, motivated and highly organised Retail Manager to plan, organise and oversee the overall operations of our retail store, manage staff, coordinate stock purchasing and inventory, monitor sales performance and profitability, and support the continued growth and operational efficiency of our business.

Salary: $75,000 to $85,000 per annum

Key Duties and Responsibilities

- Planning, organising and controlling the day-to-day operations of the fruit and vegetable retail store to ensure efficient business performance.
- Developing and implementing retail operational procedures, sales strategies and customer service standards to improve store performance and profitability.
- Managing the purchasing, ordering and replenishment of fresh fruits, vegetables and other retail products, including determining product ranges and stock requirements based on customer demand and seasonal availability.
- Establishing and maintaining relationships with fresh produce wholesalers, distributors and other suppliers, including negotiating product pricing and supply arrangements.
- Monitoring product quality, freshness and shelf life, and implementing stock rotation procedures to minimise spoilage, wastage and inventory losses.
- Determining product pricing strategies,



promotional offers and merchandising arrangements based on purchasing costs, profit margins, market trends, seasonal availability and customer demand.
- Monitoring daily sales, preparing sales reports and analysing business performance to identify opportunities for revenue growth and operational improvements.
- Managing store budgets, purchasing costs and operational expenditure to maintain profitability and achieve business objectives.
- Recruiting, training, supervising and evaluating retail staff, including allocating duties, preparing work rosters and monitoring employee performance.
- Overseeing store presentation, product displays and merchandising standards to ensure an attractive and organised shopping setting.
- Managing customer enquiries, resolving complaints and implementing strategies to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and repeat business.
- Ensuring compliance with applicable food safety, hygiene, workplace health and safety and retail industry regulations.
- Overseeing cash handling, point-of-sale operations, daily sales reconciliation and financial recordkeeping.
- Monitoring market trends, seasonal produce availability and customer purchasing preferences to support effective stock planning and product selection.

Qualifications and Experience





- Minimum Diploma in Management, Business Management or a related field, or at least three years of relevant experience in lieu of formal qualifications.
- Demonstrated experience of at least 1-2 year’s managing retail store operations, preferably within the fresh produce, grocery, supermarket or food retail industry.
- Strong knowledge of fresh produce handling, inventory control, stock rotation, product quality and wastage management.
- Proven experience in supplier negotiations, purchasing, stock ordering and retail pricing.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise, train and manage retail staff effectively.
- Sound understanding of retail budgeting, sales reporting, cost control and operational management.
- Strong leadership, communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to manage customer relationships professionally.
- Knowledge of relevant food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements.
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and make sound operational decisions in a fast-paced retail environment.
