Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Test Manager , with solid experience in managing testing for large scale infrastructure projects, for a long-term contract role with a Federal Agency.

Required Skills

- 7 to 10 years in IT with at least 3 to 5 years specifically managing testing for large scale infrastructure projects & sound knowledge of infrastructure, in particular networking
- Strong experience in developing organisational policies, standards, and guidelines for testing, planning & leading strategic, large and complex testing activities, leading activities to manage risks and opportunities associated with testing, adapting/developing organisational testing capabilities and methods to solve complex business and engineering problems in tools and testing, promoting a culture of quality throughout the organisation and drives adoption of and adherence to testing policies and standards.
- Proven track record of managing infrastructure test environments and experience with Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) testing tool.
- Proficient with test automation frameworks and tools
- Experience in leading engineers for the establishment / setup of suitable test environments and assisting in the execution of the test cases, where required
- Must have the ability to perform data analysis, to identify trends and summaries for management consumption
- Strong experience in developing and managing Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM) and Verification Traceability Matrix (VTM).

Desirable skills





- Desirable to have ITIL / Project Management Certifications (PMP, Prince etc)

Responsibilities

- Oversee the planning, development and management of test cases
- Allocate work to team members, using judgement to match issue complexity and staff capability
- Analyse functional requirements to determine the software application testing requirements
- Attend interagency meetings and forums to influence business outcomes and share information
- Define the approach for scripting, test data requirements gathering, and test data gathering, including define the inventory of test scenarios
- Develop staff capability through coaching and mentoring to increase performance and engagement to less experienced colleagues
- Negotiate, engage and manage relationships with other agencies and service providers to build service delivery capability
- Oversee, review and advise on a range of written material including technical and corporate documentation
- Perform data analysis, to identify trends and summarise for management consumption
- Perform execution of test cases at various stages of testing on appropriate testing platforms, including identify, manage and document defects

Security Clearance

- The candidate must hold a valid NV1 Security Clearance at the time of submitting their application.

Contract Details

- Experience level: - EL1 equivalent
- Estimated Start Date: - Friday, 01 January 2027
- Working arrangements: - (Hybrid)
- Contract length up to 12 months with up to a maximum of 24 months potential extensions.
- Working arrangements: - The agency requires these services at the agency’s premises in either Canberra ACT or Melbourne VIC.
