We are seeking an experienced Test Manager to take ownership of testing across a significant HR and workforce technology transformation.
This is a senior, hands-on role for someone who can come into an established program, quickly understand what has already been completed and put the structure, governance and acceleration required around a substantial testing scope.
The testing window is tight, so this opportunity will particularly suit someone who is comfortable working at pace, can identify risk early and is able to move from strategy into execution rather than operating purely as a test coordinator.
A major part of the role will also involve helping business stakeholders understand and participate effectively in UAT, including coaching people with varying levels of testing experience and technical confidence.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
- Test strategy and end-to-end planning Take ownership of the overall testing strategy, test plans, test cases and execution approach across the program. You’ll assess the work already completed, identify any gaps or refinements required and establish a clear end-to-end approach covering scope, priorities, dependencies, entry and exit criteria, acceptance criteria, scheduling and risk.
- Test automation and acceleration A major focus of the role will be establishing a practical test acceleration and automation framework that can be implemented quickly. You’ll determine where automation can provide the greatest value, assess the most appropriate framework and progressively introduce it while testing is already underway.
Experience with tools such as Selenium and Playwright would be valuable, although the priority is your ability to assess the environment and build the right framework rather than simply having experience with a particular tool.
- User Acceptance Testing and business coaching Lead the UAT approach and help business stakeholders understand what effective acceptance testing looks like. You’ll support SMEs in developing realistic business scenarios, facilitate testing sessions and coach people who may have limited previous exposure to structured UAT.
- HRIS, payroll and workforce testing Lead testing across a broad HRMIS environment covering areas including Core HR, Payroll, Workforce Management, Rostering, Recruitment, Learning and Performance, as well as associated integrations. T You’ll oversee areas including payroll validation, award interpretation, allowances, penalties, overtime, leave calculations and roster-driven payments,
together with parallel payroll testing and variance analysis.
- Data migration, reconciliation and integration testing Ensure migrated data and integrations are appropriately validated before deployment. This will include data migration testing, reconciliation, employee and organisational data validation, payroll and rostering data, interface testing and ensuring data integrity across the broader solution. You’ll need to be comfortable considering areas such as data quality, reconciliation, parallel processing and rollback planning, rather than focusing solely on functional test execution.
These were specifically identified as important areas of depth for this appointment.
- Defect, risk and quality management Establish a structured approach to defect management, triage and resolution. You’ll track defects through to closure, facilitate conversations between vendors and internal SMEs and provide explicit visibility of testing quality, risks and unresolved issues. A strong risk-mitigation mindset will be essential, particularly given the breadth of the program and the limited testing timeframe.
- Go-live and production readiness Provide clear recommendations around whether the solution is ready to progress into production. You’ll support testing sign-off, cutover planning and go-live readiness, while ensuring critical defects, data issues and payroll variances have been adequately addressed. You’ll also contribute to post-deployment hypercare where required.
What You’ll Bring To The Role
- Significant experience leading testing across complex enterprise application or transformation programs
- A genuinely hands-on testing background, including developing test strategies, cases and scripts as well as participating in execution
- Experience establishing a testing approach or framework from the ground up
- Strong test automation and test acceleration experience
- Demonstrated ability to deliver a large testing scope within tight project timelines
- Strong experience leading UAT and coaching business users through the testing process
- Experience with HRIS, HCM,
payroll or workforce management implementations
- Solid understanding of data migration, reconciliation and data-quality testing
- Experience with integration and end-to-end testing
- Understanding of parallel payroll testing, cutover and rollback considerations
- Solid defect-management and risk-management capability
- The ability to work effectively with project teams, business SMEs, vendors and senior stakeholders
- A proactive, organised and delivery-focused approach, with the ability to see a testing program through from strategy to completion
- Highly regarded Experience with Dayforce would be particularly valuable.
