Western Work Force are seeking a reliable and hands-on Trades Assistant / Welder to join our client's team based in Forrestfield, Perth.

This is a varied, practical role suited to someone with experience in a workshop or fabrication environment who is confident assisting tradespeople while also carrying out welding and general metalwork duties.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist tradespeople with day-to-day workshop operations, maintenance and fabrication tasks.
- Carry out welding, cutting, grinding and basic fabrication work as required.
- Prepare materials and components for welding and assembly.
- Use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Assist with the assembly, fitting and modification of metal components and equipment.
- Measure, mark out and prepare materials in accordance with specifications.
- Move, handle and organise materials, tools and equipment around the workshop.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working workplace.
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures and ensure work is completed to the required standard.
- Provide general workshop support and assist with additional duties as required.

Skills and Experience:

- Previous experience in a Trades Assistant, Welder,



Fabrication or similar hands-on role.
- Practical welding experience and confidence using workshop tools and equipment.
- Ability to read and follow basic drawings, measurements and work instructions.
- Good understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
- Ability to work effectively within a team while managing tasks independently.
- Reliable, punctual and willing to get involved in all aspects of workshop operations.
- Relevant welding qualifications or trade certifications will be highly regarded.
