The Opportunity n

We’re looking for a commercially minded Finance Analyst to join our growing Commercial Finance team, supporting the Merchandise and Marketing portfolio.

n

Reporting to the Finance Manager – Merchandise & Marketing, this role sits at the heart of trading performance — partnering closely with Buyers and key stakeholders to deliver insights that drive margin, optimise promotions, and ensure robust rebate governance.

n

This is a hands‑on role where you’ll own key processes, influence decision‑making, and play a critical role in improving financial visibility across one of the most commercially dynamic areas of the business.

Responsibilities n

n
- Act as a key finance partner to the Merchandise team, providing day‑to‑day commercial support
n
- Analyse monthly trading performance across sales, margin, rebates and costs
n
- Partner with Buyers to assess supplier agreements, trading terms and promotional activity
n
- Support pricing, ranging and promotional decisions through financial analysis
n
- Own end‑to‑end rebate management, ensuring accurate accruals,



reporting and collections
n
- Maintain strong governance and controls to protect trading gross profit
n
- Prepare monthly reporting and provide clear insights into performance drivers
n
- Investigate and explain variances to budget, forecast and prior periods
n
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes for the Merchandise function
n
- Contribute to system and BI improvements to enhance reporting and data quality
n

About You n

To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:

n

n
- Experience in commercial finance, management accounting or analyst roles (retail/FMCG/wholesale preferred)
n
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate data into insights
n
- Exposure to rebates, trading income or margin analysis (highly regarded)
n
- Advanced Excel skills and experience working with large datasets
n
- Strong attention to detail and financial discipline
n
- A proactive, curious mindset with the confidence to challenge and influence stakeholders
n
- CA/CPA qualification (or working towards)
n
