D’Arcy Weil is recruiting a Senior Analyst, Corporate Development & M&A; on behalf of a major global, multi-disciplinary business. The Sydney-based role joins the corporate development team of a company that is active on deals at home and overseas, including:

- Running pieces of live transactions from start to finish, alongside colleagues and external advisors
- Building the financial models and commercial analysis that decide whether a deal stacks up
- Coordinating due diligence across the financial, commercial, legal and tax angles, and flagging what could go wrong
- Writing investment papers and presentations that put a explicit recommendation in front of senior leaders
- Spotting growth opportunities, whether by buying, selling or partnering, that reach beyond any single deal

It suits an analyst who wants real ownership on live deals, is curious about how operating businesses make money, and can turn analysis into a recommendation people act on.

The Role

- Deal workstreams: Take on, and where you can lead, parts of acquisitions, disposals, joint ventures and strategic investments across the whole deal timeline, dealing with colleagues and outside parties at every level
- Modelling and analysis: Build and maintain the financial models, and the commercial and financial analysis, that test each opportunity and support the investment decision
- Due diligence: Run and coordinate diligence across the financial, commercial, legal and tax areas,



working with advisors and internal specialists to identify the main deal risks and see them addressed
- Investment papers: Write investment papers, executive presentations and supporting material that set out findings and recommendations plainly for senior leadership
- Growth advice: Advise the business on growing both organically and through acquisition, bringing commercial insight that goes beyond a single transaction

About You

- 2–4 years’ experience in investment banking, corporate advisory, a Big 4 corporate finance team or an in-house corporate development function
- Solid financial modelling and analytical skills
- Real curiosity about how operating businesses work and grow
- Comfortable influencing people at every level, from analysts to executives
- Takes initiative and owns the outcome
- Industrials or infrastructure exposure a plus
