Company Description The Australasian Society for Artificial Intelligence in Mental Health is a not-for-profit organization established in 2025, focused on advancing the application of AI in mental healthcare. The society promotes high professional and ethical standards in the use of AI, ensuring technologies are safe, effective, and evidence-based. It supports research, knowledge sharing, and collaboration among clinicians, researchers, technologists, and community stakeholders.

Role Description: The Australasian Society for Artificial Intelligence in Mental Health (ASAIMH) is seeking expressions of interest for the position of Treasurer on its Board. This is a volunteer role: the Treasurer is appointed as a director of ASAIMH Ltd and joins the Board in guiding the Society's growth, governance and financial sustainability.

Key responsibilities





- Oversee ASAIMH's financial management, budgets and cash flow
- Present financial reports to the Board at each meeting
- Lead preparation of the annual financial statements and liaise with the auditor or reviewer
- Monitor compliance with financial, tax and reporting obligations
- Advise the Board on financial risk, policies and long-term sustainability
- Fulfil the general duties of a company director as a member of the Board

Who we're looking for

- Essential: a finance or accounting background, such as CPA, CA or equivalent qualification and experience
- Essential: Australian resident
- Desirable: board, governance or not-for-profit experience
- Desirable: an interest in mental health and the responsible use of artificial intelligence

Time commitment The Board meets monthly online via Zoom, so you can take part from anywhere in Australia. Allow time each month to prepare financial reports and review board papers. This is an unpaid, volunteer position.
