The Local Government Finance Authority (LGFA) is seeking a motivated and analytical Treasury & Finance Analyst to join our team.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a background in accounting, finance, commerce or economics who is keen to gain practical experience across treasury operations, financial analysis and financial reporting.

Working alongside experienced finance professionals, you'll receive guidance and support as you develop your technical knowledge and contribute to the financial services LGFA provides to South Australian councils and the local government sector.

About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Director Lending & Treasury, you'll work closely with our Money Market Dealer, Financial Controller and Senior Financial Analyst, gaining exposure to a broad range of financial activities.

This is a varied role that combines financial analysis with treasury operations, reporting and customer service, providing an excellent opportunity to build your career in a specialised finance environment.

Your responsibilities will include

- Supporting daily treasury activities, including cash management, investments, loans and financial transactions.
- Assisting with financial analysis of South Australian councils, including reviewing budgets, financial statements and long-term financial plans.
- Preparing financial reports, reconciliations and supporting documentation.
- Assisting with treasury systems, transaction processing and financial data management.
- Supporting the preparation of financial analysis reports and identifying trends and variances.
- Responding to enquiries and building positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Contributing to process improvements and maintaining accurate financial records.





What Do We Want From You? We're looking for someone who enjoys working with numbers, has strong attention to detail and is keen to develop their career in finance.

You may be a recent graduate with some practical experience or an early-career finance professional looking to broaden your skills and gain exposure to treasury and financial markets.

Ideally, you'll bring:

- Qualifications in accounting, finance, commerce, economics or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Solid numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good Microsoft Excel skills and confidence working with financial information.
- Excellent attention to detail and an understanding of the importance of accuracy.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- A proactive approach, willingness to learn and genuine interest in developing your financial knowledge.
