Salary: $80,000–$85,000 per year plus superannuation

Poo Carters is seeking an experienced Truck Driver to join our team in Wallaroo. Our business provides septic tank pump-outs, liquid waste removal and portable toilet hire and servicing.

The role involves driving and operating trucks to collect and transport liquid waste and deliver and collect portable toilets and associated equipment.

Key responsibilities

· Drive trucks safely between the depot, customer properties, worksites and authorised waste disposal facilities.

· Manoeuvre vehicles into safe positions for septic tank pump-outs, liquid waste collection, and loading and unloading portable toilets and equipment.

· Operate vehicle-mounted pumps, hoses and loading equipment to collect and discharge liquid waste and load and unload equipment safely.

· Follow secure loading and unloading procedures, use appropriate personal protective equipment and take precautions to prevent spills and contamination.

· Conduct regular vehicle and equipment checks, including tyres, brakes, lights, tanks, hoses and fittings, and report defects or maintenance requirements.

· Monitor load weights and tank capacities to comply with vehicle load limits and maintain safe weight distribution.

· Secure portable toilets,



equipment and hoses for transport, and check tank closures and fittings to prevent movement, damage, leaks or loss of contents.

· Verify job instructions and collection and delivery documentation, check the condition of equipment, and obtain customer acknowledgements and waste disposal receipts as required.

· Maintain accurate vehicle inspection records, trip logs and collection, delivery and disposal documentation.

· Communicate with customers and the operations team to coordinate site access, service schedules and job completion.

Requirements

· A current Medium Rigid (MR) driver licence or higher.

· At least two years of work experience in a similar truck driving role.

· Knowledge of vehicle safety checks, load restraint and safe loading and unloading practices.

· Ability to operate pumping, hose and loading equipment safely.

· Ability to undertake the physical duties of the role, including handling hoses and equipment.

· Reliability, attention to detail and clear communication skills.
