About the Role

This is a varied, hands-on position where you'll be responsible for managing the daily operations of our tyre workshop, from tyre fitting and wheel alignments through to customer enquiries, sales, bookings and supplier coordination.

You'll be working independently for much of the day, so we're looking for someone who is organised, proactive and confident in making decisions while maintaining high standards of workmanship and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Tyre Fitting & Workshop Operations

- Fit, balance, rotate and replace tyres on passenger vehicles, 4WDs and light commercial vehicles.

- Ensure all tyres fitted meet vehicle manufacturer requirements, including tyre size, load rating and speed rating.
- Maintain a clean, organised and secure workshop environment.
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures and maintain workshop equipment.

Sales & Customer Service

- Manage front-counter enquiries, incoming phone calls and emails professionally.
- Assist customers in selecting suitable tyres based on their vehicle, driving requirements and budget.
- Prepare competitive quotes and confidently convert customer enquiries into sales.
- Follow up outstanding quotes and potential sales opportunities.
- Build strong relationships with customers and encourage repeat business.
- Handle customer payments, invoicing and general sales administration.
- Deliver a high standard of customer service throughout the entire purchasing and fitting process.

Workshop & Order Management

- Process online and in-store orders accurately and efficiently.

- Place tyre orders with suppliers and follow up on stock availability and deliveries.
- Arrange freight bookings and coordinate tyre deliveries.
- Receive incoming stock, check deliveries and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Keep customers informed of order progress, delivery timeframes and fitting appointments.
- Manage day-to-day workshop administration and ensure smooth operations.

What We're Looking For We're seeking a reliable, self-motivated and well-presented individual who takes pride in their work and can confidently manage a workshop with minimal supervision.

Essential Requirements

- Certificate II in Automotive Tyre Servicing Technology or relevant equivalent qualification.
- Demonstrated experience in tyre fitting, balancing and wheel alignments.
- Experience working with passenger vehicles, 4WDs and light commercial vehicles.
- Strong sales and customer service skills, including the ability to recommend products and close sales.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities and take ownership of daily operations.
- Positive computer skills and confidence using booking, ordering and invoicing systems.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Sound knowledge of workshop safety procedures and safe working practices.
- Current Australian manual driver's licence.
- Punctual, dependable and professional with a positive, can-do attitude.

Highly Regarded

- Previous experience in tyre retail sales or front-counter operations.
- Experience managing a tyre shop or working independently in a small workshop.
- Knowledge of major tyre brands, products and applications.
- Experience with supplier ordering, inventory management and freight coordination.
- Experience with tyre inspections, puncture repairs and diagnosing tyre-related issues.

What We Offer

- Competitive salary starting from $75,000 per annum, depending on experience and capabilities.
- Performance-based commission opportunities following successful completion of the probationary period.
- Monday to Friday working hours, 8:00am – 4:30pm.
