This is more than a traditional underwriting assistant role — it is an opportunity to shape how underwriting support is delivered, gain meaningful exposure to underwriting decisions, and develop a long-term career pathway within a global insurance platform.

As an Underwriting Assistant, you will play a critical role in supporting our underwriting teams across multiple lines of business. You will help ensure seamless execution of the underwriting lifecycle while contributing to the scalability and effectiveness of our Australian operations .

You will work closely with underwriters, operations, and external partners — with visibility across the full underwriting process.

This role is ideal for candidates currently working in commercial insurance environments who are looking to:

Responsibilities include: Underwriting & Portfolio Support

- Partner closely with underwriters to support new business and renewal underwriting activities
- Prepare and manage submissions, ensuring completeness and data accuracy
- Maintain and enhance underwriting logs and tracking tools to support pipeline visibility
- Assist in reviewing pricing outputs and flagging inconsistencies

Policy & Documentation Management





- Prepare and issue policy documentation, endorsements, and invoices
- Ensure accurate entry and maintenance of risks within policy administration systems
- Support renewal preparation, including reporting and client documentation

Operational Excellence & Framework Building

- Contribute to building an efficient and scalable underwriting support framework for the growing Australia platform
- Identify process improvements and support workflow optimization across teams
- Ensure strong data discipline to support portfolio insights and reporting

Compliance & Governance

- Execute sanction screening and ensure adherence to regulatory and internal audit requirements
- Maintain high-quality electronic file documentation aligned with compliance standards

Stakeholder Coordination

- Liaise with internal underwriting teams, shared services, and external vendors
- Support multinational and MGA-related processes as required
- Assist in reconciling outsourced service provider outputs and maintaining data accuracy

What We Are Looking For We are seeking candidates who are already operating within commercial insurance environments and are ready to step into a more impactful role.

- 5 years’ experience as an Underwriting Assistant, Operations Analyst, or similar role within commercial insurance
- Strong understanding of underwriting processes across policy lifecycle (submission to binding)
- High attention to detail combined with strong organizational capability
- Confidence to engage and challenge constructively with underwriters
- Strong Excel and data handling capabilities
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, evolving environment
