As a Compensation Advocate in Townsville, you'll guide them through claims and appeals with the Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA). You'll help them get their service-related conditions recognised and access compensation, medical and rehabilitation support.

The role includes home and hospital visits, and some travel within Queensland and intrastate.
What you'll do
- Prepare and lodge DVA claims under the VEA, DRCA and MRCA with support and mentoring
- Track the progress of claims and appeals, and keep clients informed
- Keep accurate case notes and client records in our CRM
- Visit veterans at home and in hospital to support their claims
- Work with DVA, health providers, RSL Sub Branches and other ex-service organisations
This is a permanent position based full-time in our office in Aitkenvale in Townsville.
What you'll bring
- Experience in claims, insurance, workers' compensation, rehabilitation or case management
- Confidence interpreting legislation and policy, with strong attention to detail
- Empathy and professionalism in sensitive conversations
- Advocacy qualifications (MILADC002 / MILADW002), or willingness to complete them with our support
- A current Queensland C class driver's licence
An understanding of the ADF or the veteran community is highly regarded.
