HOUSEKEEPER / FAMILY ASSISTANT FOR TWO PROPERTIES

An excellent opportunity for an organised, proactive and personable Family Assistant / Houskeeper to support a wonderful family with two young children. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys keeping a home running smoothly, takes pride in maintaining a clean and tidy setting, and is happy to assist wherever needed.

You will take responsibility for the daily housekeeping, inc. laundry, ironing, linen changes etc and general household organisation, while also assisting with simple food preparation and snacks for the children. The family is looking for someone who is warm and nurturing, flexible and proactive, someone with the ability to anticipate what needs doing and take initiative without needing constant direction.

This role is based in Main Beach with ad hoc assistance required at their second home, approx. 40mins away, which will include, setting up and maintaining the property ahead of the families’ arrival and when the family departs.

The successful candidate will be confident in the kitchen and have a practical understanding of safe food handling and basic food preparation. As Mum will be around, childcare is not the primary focus, however experience with toddlers would be advantageous as there will be assistance required on occasions.

This warm and welcoming family are flexible in terms of start time, and days, whether it be 4 or 5 days and are looking for someone that can really immerse themselves in the role and fit into their lifestyle and family.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

- Maintain a clean, tidy and organised home, including dusting,



general tidying and keeping the kitchen and living areas in order.
- Empty and stack the dishwasher, clean kitchen surfaces, maintain a tidy kitchen and clean baby bottles.
- Manage the full laundry cycle, including washing, folding, ironing.
- Change bed linen weekly.
- Complete a weekly deep clean of bathrooms and other designated areas of the home.
- Keep toys organised and put away, helping maintain a tidy and child-friendly environment.
- Prepare simple meals and snacks for the children and assist with basic food preparation
- Assist with packing and unpacking following family trips and ensure the home is organised and ready for the family's return.
- Monitor everyday supplies, grocery shopping and assist with errands such as post office visits and dry cleaning.
- Empty bins, manage recycling and attend to other daily household duties as needed
- Provide minimal assistance with the family's miniature Dachshund as required.

REQUIREMENTS:

- Previous experience in a similar role
- Professional housekeeping experience
- Pet Friendly (1 miniature Dachshund
- Ability to work between two properties
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Trustworthy, reliable and discreet
- Friendly, professional and a hardworking nature with strong communication skills
- Cooking experience
- Must have own vehicle and a clean drivers’ licence required
- Valid WWCC / Police Check required
- Excellent references
- Full working rights in Australia

JOB CONDITIONS:

- 28 – 37 hours per week
- 4-5 days per week (including 2 x 6pm finishes)
- ABN required
- Flexible schedule
