- Relocation and accommodation provided
- Help Pindan Beef Co reopen its Kimberley processing plant
- Hydraulics, pneumatics, steam and fabrication work across a full site
Pindan Beef Co is reopening its beef processing facility on the Great Northern Highway near Derby, in WA's Kimberley region between Derby and Broome.
The plant was formerly operated as Kimberley Meat Company. As the site comes back online, Pindan is building its maintenance team from the ground up and is looking for a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join it.
The Role
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you'll keep the plant's mechanical equipment and infrastructure running safely and reliably in a regulated food processing environment. Because the site is reopening, you'll get to shape how maintenance is done from the start rather than inheriting someone else's system.
What you'll be doing
- Preventative and breakdown maintenance on mechanical plant, including steam, water, compressed air and waste systems
- Fault finding and repair on processing machinery and site infrastructure
- Maintaining pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, bearings, valves, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Installing and commissioning plant and equipment, and taking part in shutdowns and major overhauls
- Fabrication, welding and fitting as required
- Applying isolation, LOTO and permit systems, and contributing to risk assessments and safety meetings
- Working within food safety and hygiene standards and supporting audits
- Recording maintenance activity accurately and identifying reliability improvements, including root cause analysis
What you'll bring
Essential:
- Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter
- Industrial maintenance experience
- Robust fault finding and problem solving skills
- Hydraulics and pneumatics experience
- Full Australian working rights (visa sponsorship is not available)
Highly regarded:
- Meat processing or FMCG manufacturing experience
- Welding and fabrication skills
- Experience in a regulated environment
- CMMS experience
You're safety-focused, reliable and calm under pressure, with strong mechanical aptitude and a team-first attitude. Most importantly, you're keen on a regional lifestyle and the chance to help bring a plant back to life.
What's on offer
- Full-time role with Pindan Beef Co
- Relocation assistance and accommodation provided
- A real say in setting up maintenance practices at a reopening site
- Kimberley lifestyle: fishing, the outdoors, and Broome within reach
