About the Role:

Below are some key competencies we are looking for in this role:

- Visual Merchandising: Skill in creating visually appealing product displays and layouts to attract customers and drive sales.
- Forecasting and Planning: Ability to forecast demand accurately, plan product assortments, and develop inventory strategies to meet sales targets.
- Communication Skills: Effective communication with suppliers, vendors, internal teams, and stakeholders to coordinate merchandising activities and ensure alignment with business goals.
- Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable terms with suppliers, vendors, and partners, including pricing, delivery schedules, and promotional opportunities.
- Customer Focus: Commitment to understanding customer needs and preferences, and tailoring merchandising strategies to enhance the shopping experience and drive customer satisfaction.
- Teamwork and Collaboration: Ability to work effectively as part of a cross-functional team, collaborating with colleagues in areas such as marketing, sales, and operations to achieve common objectives.
- Attention to Detail: Thoroughness and accuracy in executing merchandising tasks, including product placement, signage, and pricing.





Essential Role Requirements:

- Valid Driver's License: The candidate must possess a valid driver's license, as driving will be an essential part of the role.
- Access to a Car: Access to a reliable vehicle is required for transportation to various retail locations.
- Ability to Carry Stock: The candidate must be physically capable of lifting and carrying stock, including boxes and display materials, as part of the merchandising duties.
- Previous merchandising experience within FMCG or liquor (liquor experience preferred).
- Strong understanding of retail merchandising, stock rotation, shelf replenishment and planogram compliance.
- Confident installing and maintaining POS, displays and promotional material.
- Experience building displays, increasing stock weight and improving shelf presence.
- Ability to negotiate additional display space and build strong relationships with store managers.
- Must have a reliable vehicle and a valid driver’s licence.
- Highly organised, proactive and able to work independently across multiple stores.
- Physically capable of moving stock, building displays and completing hands-on merchandising work.
