About Us

Australian Produce Brokers (APB) is a well-established fresh produce wholesaler operating from the Perth Markets in Canning Vale.

We work with growers, suppliers and customers across Australia, supplying quality fresh produce to a wide range of businesses.

We are looking for an experienced, reliable and motivated Warehouse Leading Hand / Supervisor to join our team.

This is a hands-on leadership position suited to someone who enjoys a rapid-paced working environment, takes pride in getting the job done properly and is comfortable leading a team while actively contributing to daily warehouse operations.

We are also recruiting for general warehouse picking and packing, forklift operating and delivery positions.

About the Role

You will play a key role in the daily operation of our warehouse, helping organise staff, coordinate orders and ensure produce is handled and dispatched accurately and efficiently.

This is not a desk-based management position. We need someone who is happy to jump on a forklift, pick and pack orders, assist staff and lead by example.

Key Responsibilities

- Coordinate daily warehouse activities, including picking, packing, loading and dispatch.

- Provide hands-on leadership and direction to warehouse staff.

- Operate forklifts and assist with loading and unloading vehicles.

- Organise workloads and allocate tasks to ensure orders are completed on time.

- Check orders for accuracy, quality and presentation.

- Assist with stock rotation, product handling and warehouse organisation.

- Help train, support and develop warehouse employees.

- Maintain a clean, safe and efficient working environment.

- Communicate effectively with management, sales staff, drivers and other team members.

- Identify operational issues and help implement practical improvements.

- Take responsibility for completing daily warehouse tasks efficiently and to a high standard.

What We're Looking For

Essential Requirements:

- Current Australian forklift (LF) licence.

- Current driver's licence.

- Previous warehouse,



logistics or distribution experience.

- Ability to lead and motivate a team.

- Strong work ethic, reliability and punctuality.

- Good organisational and time-management skills.

- Ability to work efficiently in a busy, physically demanding environment.

- Willingness to undertake hands-on warehouse duties.

- Good communication skills and a practical, problem-solving attitude.

- Commitment to safe working practices.

Highly Regarded:

- Previous experience as a Warehouse Leading Hand, Supervisor or Manager.

- Experience in fresh produce, food distribution or wholesale markets.

- Experience coordinating picking, packing and dispatch operations.

- Experience training and supervising warehouse employees.

Previous fresh produce experience would be beneficial but is not essential for someone with strong warehouse experience and the right attitude.

Working Hours & Conditions

- Monday to Friday: 3:00 AM start, generally finishing between 10:00 AM and 11:00 AM, depending on operational requirements.

- Occasional Sundays: Approximately 4:00 AM to 9:00 AM, as required.

- Full-time position based on a 38-hour weekly contract.

- Time Off in Lieu (TOIL) arrangements are utilised to manage additional hours worked, subject to applicable award requirements and employment conditions.

- Working hours and rosters are managed around the operational requirements of the business.

The early starts mean you'll generally finish your working day by late morning, leaving a significant portion of the day free.
